Every winter thousands of migratory birds find a haven for the colder months along our coastlines. The Great Coastal Birdwatch celebrates this remarkable annual return.
If you’re visiting the coast at any time between Saturday 19 October and Sunday 3 November, here’s how to take part:
Pick a spot along the coast to do your birdwatch.
Stay safe by following Bird Aware’s safety advice.
Spend up to an hour seeing how many different species of birds you can spot.

Give birds plenty of space so you don't disturb them from feeding or resting.
Submit your results to let us know how many you spotted.
